Dr. David Wade
Dr. David Wade has been heavily involved in Occupational Medicine since 1988, when he founded LIFETONE, a company focused on a multidisciplinary approach to treating injured workers with an “Athletes In Industry” focus. As a Master Trainer for the National Safety Council and the American Red Cross, he taught the Back Power and Back Injury Prevention programs. He was president of the Industrial Relations Committee for the Alabama State Chiropractic Association. He was a keynote speaker on Injury Prevention at the Southeastern Health and Safety Conference at Georgia Tech University in 1990.
Dr. Wade was in Washington, DC, as the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 was rolled out, radically changing Pre-Employment Exams as disabled Employees became mainstream in the workplace. In 1993, Dr. Wade founded the Wellness Education Foundation, which focuses on Industrial Health and Safety to prevent on-the-job injuries, identify health risks, develop Wellness Committees to promote a healthier workforce, and develop a logical after-care injury recovery program, which mitigated OSHA injury reporting. He has been performing Department of Transportation DOT Physical Exams since 1984. Dr. Wade became an FMCSA-certified medical examiner in 2014 and was recertified in 2024.
NUVO OCC MED Services launched in 2025, separating from Anniston Chiropractic, to focus more directly on Occupational Medical Services. Dr. Wade has developed an Industry Survey for Health, Wellness, Safety, and Injury Prevention to highlight the potential to manage risks, prevent injuries, and reduce the MOD Rate that affects Workers’ Compensation Insurance Premiums. Dr. David Wade has been an innovator and leader in the OCC MED Field since the 1980s. He has developed successful pre-placement exams to identify employees at risk of on-the-job injury, using Essential Functions as a baseline criterion for the Exams.
